Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 3/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions:

  1. Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten egg, milk, diced onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parsley in a large bowl. Gently fold the ingredients together until just combined to avoid over-mixing.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Press the mixture gently into a 9x5 inch loaf pan or shape it into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet. Roast for 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard to create the glaze.
  4. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the loaf and return it to the oven for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Apply the remaining glaze during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Remove the meatloaf from the oven once the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
