Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp (37g) granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp (12g) baking powder
- 0.5 tsp (3g) salt
- 1.25 cups (300ml) milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp (42g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Note: Whisking removes large flour clumps.
- Combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla in a smaller bowl. Whisk until the egg is fully incorporated.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Stir gently with a spoon just until the flour streaks disappear. Stop while there are still small lumps to ensure homemade pancakes from scratch stay fluffy.
- Heat your skillet over medium heat and grease it with a small pat of butter.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake.
- Watch for bubbles to form on the surface. Flip when the edges look set and matte.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the other side is golden brown.
