Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
- 1 lb ground turkey breast
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup skim milk
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely grated
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, turkey, panko, milk, grated onion, egg, and spices. Mix until just combined and roll the mixture into small, 1-inch spheres.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs for 2-3 minutes per side until they develop a mahogany-colored crust. Remove meatballs from the pan and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Melt the butter in the same pan, scraping up the brown bits. Whisk in the cornstarch for 1 minute, then slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, stir in the Greek yogurt, and simmer in the sauce until cooked through and glazed.
