Ingredients:

  • 16 oz (450g) uncooked penne or rotini pasta
  • 24 oz (680g) marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups (480ml) beef broth
  • 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) dried Italian seasoning
  • 24 oz (680g) frozen pre-cooked beef meatballs
  • 2 cups (225g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp (8g) fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease your 9x13 inch baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
  2. Pour the uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, beef broth, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning into the pan.
  3. Stir the mixture well until the pasta is completely submerged. Note: Dry noodles on top will stay hard.
  4. Gently fold in the frozen meatballs. Arrange them so they are mostly in the sauce but a few peek through the top.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Press the edges firmly to create a strong seal.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes until you smell the herbs and garlic.
  7. Remove the foil. Evenly spread the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the surface.
  8. Bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
