Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt directly in a 12-ounce microwave-safe ceramic mug until the mixture is a uniform dusty brown and no clumps remain.
  2. Pour in the milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk vigorously until the batter is smooth and glossy, ensuring you scrape the bottom corners of the mug. Drop the chocolate chips into the center without stirring.
  3. Microwave on high (1000W) for 60 to 75 seconds. Stop when the center looks slightly tacky and wet. Let the cake rest for 2 minutes to allow the residual heat to set the internal structure before serving.
