Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 ground chuck)
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup white onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, and seasonings. Mix gently with a wooden spoon or hands until just combined to avoid a tough texture.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a 9x5 inch loaf pan or on a rimmed baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  5. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf in a thick layer.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes.
  7. Remove the loaf briefly to apply the remaining glaze, then return to the oven for another 10–15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the top is mahogany-colored.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
